Dr. Bereolos is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified diabetes care & education specialist who specializes in chronic disease management. Dr. Bereolos has had type 1 diabetes since 1992. The combination of her personal and professional experiences have enabled her to successfully change the lives of many of her patients. She works with people of all ages on their diabetes management behaviors. For other services, she primarily sees adults.
Dr. Bereolos is a published author in scientific peer-reviewed journals and has been involved in clinical trials (Phase II-IV) in the areas of infectious disease, endocrinology, psychiatry, neurology, and cardiology. She is a professional speaker and travels to conferences and professional events to share her expertise in chronic disease management.
Dr. Bereolos earned her Ph.D. in clinical health psychology from the University of North Texas. She completed a clinical internship at the UNT Health Science Center in the departments of family medicine and geriatrics. Dr. Bereolos completed additional post-doctoral training by participating in a fellowship at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She also obtained a master's degree in clinical psychopharmacology which will allow her to purse prescriptive privileges. In 2023, she received the Texas Diabetes Care & Education Specialist of the Year Award by the Texas chapter of ADCES
Dr. Bereolos has presented all over the world on topics related to behavioral health. She is a sought after speaker on the psychological aspects of living with cardiometabolic syndrome.
